The Ulster Orchestra is bringing its hugely popular Christmas sing-along show to the Alley Theatre Strabane, Saturday 16th December.

Soprano Marcella Walsh joins the party to bring you well- known festive classics and carols in this Christmas cracker of a night. Sadly, our much-loved Conductor, Christopher Bell can no longer perform due to personal circumstances. However, we are delighted to welcome Ryan Bancroft, along with popular presenter Sarah Travers!

The ‘On Your Doorstep’ concerts series is a new initiative started in the Orchestra’s 50th anniversary year which sees the Orchestra play in as diverse a range of venues as possible across Northern Ireland, supported by JTI.

The Alley Theatre is delighted that local Strabane Chamber Choir will be performing from 7.15pm in the Alley Theatre Gallery before the Ulster Orchestra performs in the main auditorium at 8pm.

Formed in September 2014 by local musician and conductor Gerard Bradley. The choir draws members from Tyrone, Derry and Donegal from a variety of backgrounds but linked by a common love of choral music and the formation of the choir was the fulfilment of a long standing ambition for the conductors.

The choir have been busy competing in choral festival competitions and performing at concerts and gatherings in venues such as the Guildhall, Melmount Church and Letterkenny Cathedral. Their repertoire ranges from the classical to the popular and takes in most every genre along the way.

This Autumn saw them gaining a runners up spot in the Mixed voice section of Derry National Choral festival and gained 2nd place at the National competition in Sligo and gained a 2nd place and a 3rd from a total opposition of 20 choirs from all over the country of Ireland.

So come along and join the Ulster Orchestra and Strabane Chamber Choir this Christmas and create special memories for all the family with the magical experience of live orchestral and choral music.

Tickets are £14, £12 (con) available from the Alley Theatre on www.alley-theatre.com or call box office on 028 7138 4444.
