Chicago Queen of Soul and all round force of nature Karen Underwood comes to the Alley Theatre on Friday 15th June celebrating legends of great female singers who have now since passed such as Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Whitney Houston, Amy Winehouse
Karen has trawled jazz, blues and soul to find artists whose rise to fame was followed by a fall from grace. Legends Lost and Found is a celebration of love and loss. It offers a concert that celebrates the lives of divas who left the world too soon but whose music lives on in popular culture – Billie Holiday, Janis Joplin, Dinah Washington, Edith Piaf and Amy Winehouse – all ladies who were lost and found The women whom enjoyed excesses and excellence and whose songs sing a story of love and pain.
Directed and arranged by John O’Brien who was the inspiration behind Pagliacci (Irish Times Theatre Award for Best Opera 2012), Orpheus, and Der Vampyr.
Karen has performed all over Ireland, including the National Concert Hall, the Olympia, the Gaiety and she has appeared on numerous TV and radio programmes and now is your chance to see her live at the Alley Theatre, Strabane. Prepare for an extravaganza of talent and emotion
