The play was first staged on Broadway in 1962 and won the Tony Award for Best Play in 1963. It's about a middle-aged couple, Martha and George, whose marriage is strained by bitterness and frustration. The play's title is a pun on the song "Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?" from Three Little Pigs. "It's 2AM and George and Martha are just getting started. The middle-aged married couple, a once-promising historian and his boss's frustrated daughter, welcome a younger professor and his wife for a nightcap—only to ensnare them in increasingly dangerous rounds of fun and games." Cast includes Ciara Gallagher, Edward Flanagan, Gilbert Young & Aoibheann Diver. Directed by Edward Flanagan, this American classic starts it's Northwest tour of Ireland at the Alley Theatre.
