Maureen Boyle grew up in Sion Mills.  Her debut poetry collection, ‘The Work of a Winter’, published by Arlen House Press, was shortlisted for the Strong/Shine Poetry Prize in 2019.  Her poem ‘Strabane’, commissioned for Radio 4, was also published by Arlen House in 2020, with photographs by her husband Malachi O’Doherty.

The Caribbean writer Derek Walcott said that a place does not exist until it is blessed into being by writing.   Would you like to tell the story of the place you come from, and your life in it, through exploring your memories and the details that bring it to life? We will use lots of different activities in a friendly, informal setting, to help you uncover stories and memories of the places that have been special to you.  You do not need to have written before . Registration is via Alley Theatre box office and the zoom link is  forward to the participants -limited to 10 places
